Evansville native Dan Engler has documented the Pocket's gridiron history with his latest book, 125 Years of Southwestern Indiana High School Football.
It includes conference standings and champions, info on players and coaches plus results for every game ever played by every school in Southwestern Indiana since 1894!
"I'm extremely proud of this," said Engler, who has researched Indiana prep football for a quarter of a century. "College football is celebrating their 150th year, but as I did the research, I realized that this was the 125th year for high school football in this area. I didn't want that history to be lost and ended up creating this amazing collection!"
While this is Engler's twelfth publication, at over 430 pages, it's the biggest, most information-packed book that he's has ever published.
The guide contains profiles for every school that has ever played in the area, and features their team colors, when their first (and last) football games were played, all-time win/loss record, playoff record, every known head coach, championships won, all-state players, NFL players, hall of famers and year-by-year results.
It's available on Amazon or by going to https://www.englerpublishing.com.
